Privacy Policy
This page explains what we collect when you use this site or send us a service request, why we collect it, and who else sees it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

Who we are
Spectra Appliance Repair is an independent appliance service company working across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any appliance manufacturer. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Spectra Appliance Repair, and “you” means anyone using this site.

What you give us
The request form on this site asks for five things, and only one of them is optional:
- Your name, so we know who to ask for.
- A phone number, because a repair is arranged by phone.
- Your city or building, so we know which county you are in and, in a managed building, who to arrange access with.
- What the appliance is doing — the symptom, in your own words.
- The brand, if you know it. This one is optional.
You may also tick which kind of appliance needs attention. We do not ask for an email address, a postal address, a ZIP code, a date of birth, or any payment details, and there is nothing on this site that will take them.
What your browser sends on its own
When the form is submitted, a few technical details travel with it. We do not type them in and neither do you:
- the page you were on when you sent the request, and the page that sent you to us, if any;
- advertising tags in the address bar, if you arrived from an advert — these tell us which campaign brought you, not who you are;
- your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and the time of submission.
The last three are recorded for one reason: to keep automated submissions out. We count how many requests come from one address in a minute and we discard the ones that behave like software rather than a person.
Cookies and tracking — there are none
This site sets no cookies. It stores nothing in your browser, runs no analytics, loads no advertising pixels, and has no tracking scripts of any kind. There is no consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to.
One third party does see your request for the page: the web fonts are served by Google Fonts, so your IP address reaches Google’s servers when the typefaces load. That is the only outside company involved in simply reading this site.
If we ever add analytics or advertising measurement, this section will say so before it happens, and this page will carry a new date at the top.
What we do with it
We use what you send to call you back, to work out what is likely wrong before a technician drives out, to arrange access with your building where that is needed, and to carry out and warrant the repair. We do not sell it. We do not rent it. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not run one.
Who else handles it
A request passes through a small number of services, each of which sees it only to do its job:
- Our host. This site and the code that receives the form run on Vercel’s infrastructure.
- Our messaging workspace. New requests appear there so that whoever is on dispatch sees them immediately.
- Our scheduling records. The request is filed so the job can be scheduled, carried out and warranted.
- Our email provider, used only as a fallback if the two above are unreachable, so that a request is never silently lost.
We do not pass your details to any manufacturer, parts distributor, marketing company or lead broker. If the law obliges us to disclose something — a court order, for example — we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden to.
How long we keep it
A request that does not become a job is kept while we follow it up and then discarded. A request that becomes a job is kept for as long as the work is under warranty and for as long afterwards as tax and insurance records require. Technical anti-spam records are short-lived and are not linked to a customer file.
When we are in your home
Two parts of the work touch your privacy directly, so they belong here rather than buried in the terms.
Photographs. A technician may photograph the appliance, the part that failed and the surrounding cabinetry — to document the fault, to order the right part, and to show you what was found. These photographs are part of the job record. We do not publish a photograph of your home, your kitchen or anything identifiable in it without asking you first, in writing, for that specific photograph.
Access. If you ask us to coordinate with your management office, concierge or property manager, we will share only what is needed to get a technician through the door: the company name, the technician, the date and time window, and any insurance paperwork the building requires. We do not discuss the fault, the appliance or the cost with building staff.
Your choices
Write to us at [ email — placeholder ] and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it — except where we are required to keep a record of work carried out. Ask us to stop contacting you and we will stop; you do not need to give a reason. If you send a request and change your mind before we call, tell us and the request is deleted.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and the form is transmitted encrypted. That protects the message in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but the smaller the pile of data, the smaller the problem, which is part of why we ask for so little.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging a repair. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what we collect or who sees it will be described here, not slipped in quietly.
